The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 seems to be coming soon, if the latest development around the upcoming handset is any measure. The successor to the Mi Mix 2 was today spotted on a certification website in China. According to the word going around these days, the Mi Mix 3 should be unveiled at a Xiaomi event in China on September 15. If you recall, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 was also launched in September last year.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3: MIIT Certification

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was today spotted on the website of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The listing shows that the phone is certified by the government of China, and is hence ready for release, insofar as legal technicalities go. The model number it carries is M1810E5A and the listing does not reveal any specs of the phone. However, we do know what the new large-display handset could look like.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3: Leaked Specifications

According to previous leaks, the Mi Mix 3 will come with a 6.4-inch bezel-less display that resembles the design language of the Vivo NEX and the Oppo Find X, with a similar pop-out front camera. The display will also pack a fingerprint sensor inside it. The handset is also expected to be made with the Chip on Plastic (CoP) technology, which will make it cost lesser than the Vivo NEX and Oppo Find X.

We can also expect the Mi Mix 3 to achieve the same aspect ratio and screen-to-body ratio as the Oppo Find X, which is 19.5:9 and 87 per cent respectively. Powering the Mi Mix 3 will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor. The Mi Mix 3 is also very likely to feature wireless charging, as we saw the same on the Mi Mix 2 too. In the first week of July, we found a Wireless Power Consortium certification for a new Qi wireless charger made by Xiaomi, and experts quickly linked it to the Mi Mix 3.

The front shooter is learnt to be a 20MP unit while the rear dual camera could be a 12MP+12MP setup. The RAM is speculated to be 6GB, but there could be a variant with 8GB RAM as well, since most Chinese flagship devices have at least one such option that offers 128GB internal storage and 8GB of RAM. QuickCharge 3.0 is expected, but since the phone still has some time for its launch, QuickCharge 4.0 support wouldn’t be too much to ask for.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3: Launch, Price in India

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, according to recent leaks, will launch in China in September at 3,899 Chinese Yuan. A leaked teaser poster earlier carried the date 2018.9, hinting at a September 2018 launch for the device, but Xiaomi kept mum about it even as news spread. The sad thing, though, is that the company does not seem to be keen on launching more devices that cost this high in the Indian market.

Xiaomi has said that the Indian market may not see further flagship releases this year, but it did not single out the Mi Mix 3. If it is released here, it may be after September, and at a price tag no less than Rs 39,999. The Mi Mix 2 came to India last year in the last quarter at Rs 35,999.
