HMD Global launched the budget-friendly Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus at an event held in New Delhi yesterday. The smartphone is expected to go on sale in India starting next month and rival devices like Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 as well as the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1. ASUS has priced the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant at Rs.12,999, while the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs.14,999.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus has a high-gloss body with protective CNC-machined metal camera bezel and 2.5D curved glass both on the front and the back of the device. Dominating the front of the device is a 5.86-inch IPS LCD notched display with 720 x 1520 HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is powered by a 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. When it comes to memory, the smartphone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. For further expansion, the smartphone includes Hybrid Dual-SIM slots.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is powered by a 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with an Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone comes in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variants. Just like the Nokia 5.1 Plus, the Redmi Note 5 also includes Hybrid Dual-SIM slots.

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.8 GHz with an Adreno 509 GPU. It comes in three memory configurations – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. For further expansion, the smartphone includes a dedicated microSD card slot.
