Xiaomi POCO F1 First Sale Date is August 29 in India at Price Starting Rs.20,999

Earlier today, popular Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its first smartphone under the new POCO sub-brand in India, dubbed F1. In markets outside India, the smartphone is expected to debut as the POCOPHONE F1. Just as expected, Xiaomi has priced the POCO F1 very aggressively in the country, making it significantly more affordable than other Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones such as the ASUS ZenFone 5Z and the OnePlus 6.

POCO F1: First Sale Next Week

The POCO F1 will be available for purchase in India for the first time in a flash sale on August 29th at 12 PM. In addition to Flipkart, customers will be able to purchase the POCO F1 on Mi.com and Mi Store app as well. Since the smartphone offers phenomenal value for money, we expect it to run out of stock within seconds in the first flash sale. So if you want to grab one, you will need to be very quick in placing your order.

POCO F1: Price in India, Launch Offers

The POCO F1 has been launched in multiple variants in India. Priced at Rs.20,999 is the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Next, we have the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, priced at Rs.23,999. If you want even more storage, you can get the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, which will set you back Rs.28,999. Xiaomi has also launched an Armored Edition of the POCO F1 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage, priced at Rs.29,999. The smartphone comes in three colors – Graphite Black, Rosso Red, and Steel Blue.

During the first sale, HDFC Bank credit and debit card holders will get a Rs.1,000 discount on the F1. Reliance Jio subscribers can avail instant benefits of Rs.8,000, along with up to 6TB of additional 4G data.

POCO F1: Specifications, Features

The POCO F1 sports a 6.18-inch 1080 x 2246 Full HD+ resolution IPS LCD display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio and a claimed static contrast ratio of 1500:1. Protecting the display panel is a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Its key highlight, however, is the mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor under the hood. Thanks to LiquidCool technology, the POCO F1 claims to deliver best-in-class performance by ensuring that the processor maintains its peak performance even during extended gaming sessions. Consumers can choose from three different memory configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The smartphone comes with Hybrid Dual-SIM slots, which means users can choose to add a microSD card to expand the storage further by up to 256GB.

At the back of the phone is a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup with a Sony IMX363 primary sensor coupled with an f/1.9 aperture and a secondary Samsung sensor for depth-sensing. Utilizing artificial intelligence, the POCO F1 can detect 206 scenes across 25 categories and comes with an AI-powered Portrait Mode as well. On the front of the handset is a 20MP resolution selfie camera with IR Face Unlock that is claimed to unlock the phone in just 0.4 seconds, regardless of the lighting conditions. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port, and Dual 4G VoLTE. Another impressive feature of the POCO F1 is its large 4000mAh capacity battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. Thanks to the high capacity battery, the POCO F1 is likely to offer superior battery life when compared to nearly all its rivals. Some other key features of the smartphone include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, Dirac HD sound, and dual smart PA for clear audio. The POCO F1 runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9 with the POCO Launcher on top. POCO has promised that the F1 will be upgraded to Android 9.0 Pie in the fourth quarter of the year.
