Oppo R17, R17 Pro: Specifications, Features

The R17 features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a small notch on the top of the display. OEM’s should take note, especially looking at the Pixel 3 XL notch that is proposed, as this is the finest implementation of a notch we have seen so far. The device will have a 1080.x 2280 Full HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio and be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Achieving something not every OEM has been able to, the R17 will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor if the leaked images are anything to go by. The R17 packs an octa-core Snapdragon 670 SoC, which comes with a two 2.0GHz Kryo 360 cores, and six Kryo 360 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. The R17 comes with a dual camera setup that sees a primary sensor clocked at 16-megapixels and a 25-megapixel f/2.0 front-facing selfie shooter. The camera comes with some additional camera modes that offers 3D portrait mode with an AI-powered beauty mode. Connectivity-wise, the handset offers dual-SIM support, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port and a headphone port. The phone comes in only one storage and RAM variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage and will be powered by a 3500mAh battery running Android 8.1 Oreo.

As far as the Oppo R17 Pro goes, a teaser video reveals the focus of the device is on a triple camera to offer enhanced shots. Below the triple rear cameras is a dual-LED flash module and since there is no fingerprint sensor visible at the rear, it confirms the R17 Pro is expected to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The wide-angle lens at the rear is expected to come with a variable aperture that will allow the camera app to switch change the aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4 depending on the lighting conditions to offer improved shots at night by letting in more light. The Oppo R17 Pro is expected to feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with the same small notch as the R17 that will see a resolution of 1080 x 2280 resolution with a 19:9 aspect ratio that boasts a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5%. OPPO R17 Pro is expected to run on a 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, an upgrade over the Snapdragon 670 chipset powering the standard R17. You’ll also get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, all of which will be powered by a 3500mAh battery.
