Xiaomi Mi Notebook With 8th Gen Intel Processor, 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD Launched in China; Pre-orders Start

Xiaomi today announced the latest addition to its notebook lineup with the announcement of the new Mi Notebook with the latest 8th Generation Intel Core processors and a 15.6-inch sized display.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook: Specifications, Features

The new Mi Notebook features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 178-degree viewing angles. Under the hood, Xiaomi’s latest notebook runs on the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. All configurations of the new Mi Notebook come with a 128GB SSD for fast boot times and a 1TB hard disk drive for the user’s storage requirements. While the base variant includes only 4GB of RAM, the two more expensive versions pack 8GB of RAM. If users wish to add more RAM, they can do so themselves as the Mi Notebook supports up to 32GB of DDR4-2400 system memory. For optimum performance, the notebook comes with a dual-fan cooling solution with twin air outlets and 2+2 heat pipes that help dissipate heat quickly. In terms of graphics performance, the Mi Notebook will certainly not impress any gamers out there. All three Mi Notebook variants in China come with an NVIDIA GeForce MX110 GPU with 2GB of VRAM, which is an entry-level offering for notebooks based on the Maxwell GM108 chip.

Apart from a large 15.6-inch display, the other major highlight of the new Mi Notebook is a full-sized keyboard with a numeric pad, 1.5mm keystrokes, and a dedicated button to open the browser application. In terms of connectivity, the Mi Notebook comes with a 3-in-1 card reader, 1x USB 2.0, 1x Gigabit Ethernet port, 1x HDMI port, 2x USB 3.0 port, and a headphone jack. The Mi Notebook is equipped with dual 3W stereo speakers with support for Dolby Audio virtual surround sound technology. On the software front, the Mi Notebook comes with the Windows 10 operating system with Microsoft Office pre-installed. With its affordable pricing, 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, and a full-sized keyboard, the Mi Notebook is expected to draw attention from users looking for a relatively affordable notebook.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook: Price, Availability

The new Xiaomi Mi Notebook is now available for pre-order in China. Priced start at 3,999 yuan (Rs.40,800 approx.) for the base variant with an 8th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, 128GB solid state drive, 1TB hard disk, and a GeForce MX110 GPU. The middle variant is priced at 4,499 yuan (Rs.45,900 approx.) and comes with an Intel Core i5 8th Gen processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB solid state drive, 1TB hard disk drive, and a GeForce MX110 GPU. The top-end configuration comes with an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB solid state drive, 1TB hard disk drive, and GeForce MX110 GPU. It is priced at 4,999 yuan (Rs.51,000 approx.). Consumers in China will be able to get the Mi Notebook in two colors – Deep Gray and White. It is set to go on sale in China for the first time on August 28 at 10 AM.
