Xiaomi, on Wednesday, launched an affordable flagship handset, under the POCO brand in India. While we knew a few things about the device, what we were completely unprepared for was the price tag that the phone would carry. Considering that the phone is powered by the powerful Snapdragon 845 SoC, we expected that the phone would compete with the likes of the OnePlus 6 and the ASUS Zenfone 5Z. But to our surprise, Xiaomi adopted its aggressive pricing tactics to this device as well — the company priced the device at a price of 20,999 for the base model.
POCO F1: Specifications and Features
The POCO F1, as mentioned earlier, is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip with an Adreno 630 GPU for graphics. The phone is equipped with a 6.18-inch IPS LCD display which offers a resolution of 1080 x 2246 pixels. The phone will run Android 8.1 with the custom Android version being named POCO Launcher, and our initial impressions are that it’s pretty zippy. The interesting thing is that the company has promised an upgrade to Android P soon. As for the cameras, the Poco F1 comes with a 12MP+5MP dual shooters on the rear, which may not seem as amazing as the OnePlus 6’s offerings, but then again, you’re paying just about half as much. On the front, however, you have a sweet 20MP selfie snapper. Another awesome feature of the phone is its 4000mAh cell which means you get a lot more juice out of a single charge.
