We compare three Android One powered smartphones that were launched recently; the Moto P30, Nokia 6.1 Plus, and the Xiaomi Mi A2.

Today, we will be comparing some of the best Android One smartphones available in the market. From HMD Global, we’ve got the Nokia 6.1 Plus, from Xiaomi we’ve got the Mi A2, and the Moto P30 from Motorola.

Out of the the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Nokia 6.1 Plus would be sold in India, but the Moto P30 is currently limited to China. Nevertheless, let us compare the three and see which is the best value for money.

Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Xiaomi Mi A2 vs Moto P30: Design, Display

In terms of design, the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Moto P30 triumph over the Mi A2. While the Nokia 6.1 Plus has a full glass design, the Moto P30 gets a ceramic back. Both phones are available in different shades that look real nice. The Mi A2, on the other hand, has an aluminium design and thick bezels on the front.

HMD Global’s Nokia 6.1 Plus gets a 5.8-inch Full HD+ display with a notch and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The Moto P30 comes with a larger 6.2-inch Full HD+ display with 19:9 ratio as well, whereas the Xiaomi Mi A2 has a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a 18:9 aspect ratio.

Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Xiaomi Mi A2 vs Moto P30: Performance, Hardware

The Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Moto P30 pack a Snapdragon 636 processor, while the Mi A2 has a more powerful Snapdragon 660 chipset on board. The Moto P30 and the Mi A2 get a maximum 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. The Nokia 6.1 Plus, on the other hand, comes with only 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The Chinese variant of the Nokia 6.1 Plus gets up to 6GB of RAM.

If you want to add more storage, you can do so with the Moto P30 and the Nokia 6.1 Plus, via a microSD slot. The Mi A2 doesn’t come with expandable storage. Performance wise, the Mi A2 will win the battle, thanks to the faster chipset.

Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Xiaomi Mi A2 vs Moto P30: Camera

In the camera department, the Mi A2 is the winner, thanks to the latest Sony sensors on board. The dual-camera setup on the Mi A2 consists of a 12MP main sensor, and another 20MP unit. On the front, you get a 20MP selfie camera.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus has a 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup at the back, and a 16MP camera at the front. The Moto P30 also has a decent camera setup, with a 16MP + 5MP rear unit, and a 12MP front camera.

Battery is a sought after feature by all, and none of the three have anything impressive. The Moto P30 and the Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with a 3000mAh battery, whereas the Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a slightly bigger 3060mAh battery. All three phones do support 18W fast charging though, which is nice.

Since these are Android One smartphones, all of them come with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo in the stock form. This means, no bloatware or extra apps, which makes the software really smooth and lag free. You will also receive faster updates on these phones, and all of them will soon get the Android 9.0 Pie update.

Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Xiaomi Mi A2 vs Moto P30: Verdict

If you want the best out of the three, we would suggest the Xiaomi Mi A2. It’s got almost all the similar specs as the other two, but has a faster processor and much better camera setup. The Mi A2 and Nokia 6.1 Plus are launched in India, and we would still suggest the former.

If you want the best looking phone out of the three, then go for either the Moto P30 or the Nokia 6.1 Plus.
