Honor 8X, 8X Max, Vivo V11, V11 Pro: 4 Smartphones Confirmed to Launch in September 2018

The Honor 8X and 8X Max are set to launch in China on September 5, while the Vivo V11 Pro will be launched in India on September 6.

Chinese smartphone makers Honor and Vivo are set to unveil four exciting new smartphones next month. Huawei online brand Honor will be introducing the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max smartphones, while Vivo will be launching the V11 and V11 Pro.

Honor 8X: Features

The Honor 8X is expected to feature a 7.12-inch LCD display with a waterdrop notch and 1080 x 2244 Full HD+ resolution with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. It is expected to be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. While the SoC has not been confirmed just yet, rumors suggest the phablet could be powered by either a Kirin 710 or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset under the hood. In the memory department, Honor 8X will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. For further expansion, the Honor 8X will have a microSD card slot as well, accepting cards up to 256GB in size.

In the camera department, Honor 8X will feature a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the back with AI-powered features. For selfies, the phablet is expected to sport an 8MP resolution camera at the front. Connectivity-wise, the Honor 8X is expected to feature Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and 4G VoLTE. Some of the other key rumored features of the Honor 8X include a massive 4900mAh capacity battery and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Honor 8X Max: Features

The Honor 8X Max is expected to be very similar to the standard Honor 8X in most areas, although some rumors suggest the 8X Max could come with a 7.12-inch display while the 8X will sport a slightly smaller display. We also expect the 8X Max to offer a few key advantages over the standard 8X, which would help justify the addition of the Max suffix to its name. Both the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max will be launched in China at an event on September 5th. The Honor 8X series will succeed the Honor 7X budget Android smartphone launched by the company in October last year. In terms of software, we expect both the Honor 8X and Honor 8X to run on Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box. While the India launch of the two smartphones is not yet confirmed, we are certain the duo will be making their way here soon after their Chinese debut.

Vivo V11 Pro: Features

The Vivo V11 Pro will be launched in India at an event in Mumbai on September 6th. As confirmed recently, the smartphone will be available in India via both Amazon and Flipkart. The V11 Pro is expected to feature a 6.41-inch AMOLED Halo FullView display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and an ultra-tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Similar to the X21 and flagship NEX smartphones from the company, the V11 Pro will have an in-display fingerprint sensor. It will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. In the camera department, Vivo V11 Pro is going to feature a 12MP + 5MP setup on the back, likely the same setup used in the company’s latest flagship smartphone. In addition to AI features, the dual cameras will also feature Dual Pixel technology. For selfies, the V11 Pro will have a 25MP snapper on the front. Fueling the internals of the handset will be a 3400mAh capacity non-removable battery with Dual-engine fast charging technology. In terms of software, the Vivo V11 Pro will be running on the Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.0 out of the box.

Vivo V11: Features

The Vivo V11 is expected to be more or less identical to the Vivo V11 Pro in terms of specifications. Since nothing has been confirmed yet, we will need to wait slightly longer to find out if the two smartphones are actually identical in terms of specs.
