The JioPhone 2 will be available for purchase today during a flash sale on the Reliance Jio Store. The feature phone may not pack powerful hardware, but it does offer several benefits of smartphone. The JioPhone 2 with the QWERTY keypad has become quite popular, and hence interested buyers are advised to be quick with their purchasing decision.
Reliance Jio, the fastest growing 4G network in the world, recently launched the successor to the JioPhone. The JioPhone 2 sports a QWERTY keypad. However, besides the keyboard, a navigation pad, and the horizontal screen, the feature phone is quite similar to its predecessor. Still, the JioPhone 2 sold out within minutes of going on a flash sale for the first time earlier this month. Incidentally, while the original Jio Phone was available extensively through offline channels, the Jio Phone 2 is being sold online, and surprisingly, it is selling out extremely well despite no extensive marketing campaigns.
If the JioPhone 1’s sales figures were great, the response to the JioPhone 2 has been phenomenal. Hence, for eager buyers who have still not managed to get their hands on the second generation of the Jio Phone, the device is going on another flash sale today. Let’s see some features and benefits of the device so that buyers can take an informed decision.
JioPhone 2: Flash Sale Starts Details and Price
Buyers interested in procuring the JioPhone 2 will have to visit Jio’s official website: Jio.com. The sale will commence at 12PM. It is a Flash Sale. In other words, buyers will have to quite quick because the sale could end within a few minutes. Incidentally, we are basing the assumptions on the previous Flash Sale. Incidentally, buyers will have to pay Rs. 99 as delivery charges. This takes the effective price of the JioPhone 2 to Rs. 3,098.
The previous sale merely lasted for a few minutes, before the listing page mentioned “Out of Stock”. Quite a few buyers had a rather poor experience during the first Flash Sale. There have been complaints which mentioned that buyers were able to get to the ‘Add to cart’ stage. However, they failed to actually buy the phone. Instead of the page proceeding ahead, buyers were greeted with a rather disappointing message that read ‘Page under maintenance’.
Persistent buyers who insisted on moving ahead, were immediately met with a “Product is Out of Stock” message. It is quite apparent that Reliance Jio faced a barrage of interested buyers who wished to procure the second generation of JioPhone.
Reliance Jio’s JioPhone has been a phenomenal success so far. The company recently acknowledged that about 25 million units of the feature phone were sold in a record time. The sales figures are quite indicative of the craze about the JioPhone 2. With the latest update, the intensity is expected to shoot skywards.
Reliance Jio JioPhone Gets WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Maps:
Both the JioPhone 1 and the JioPhone 2 recently gained the ability to download and use the several mainstream apps and services offered by Google and Facebook. The Jio Phone 2 comes pre-loaded with Facebook app, and users have to download the other two from the Jio Store. Meanwhile, the first Jio Phone gained access to these apps through a recent software update.
Given the vertical placement of the screen on the JioPhone 1, the access and consumption of the services isn’t as optimized as on the horizontal screen present on the JioPhone 2. Watching videos on YouTube, surfing Facebook, and interacting on WhatsApp is much better on the JioPhone 2 that sports the QWERTY keypad and horizontally placed screen.
The support for Google Maps significantly boosts the usage of the feature phone, which can now also work as a navigational device. Although the screen is small, the Google Maps does support voice based turn-by-turn navigation. All the apps are now available for download on the Jio App Store. The JioPhone 2 also supports Google’s virtual assistant, and that makes many tasks very easy and handsfree.
