The full specifications of the recently launched Motorola One Power give us a good look at what this phone has to offer. The Moto P30 in China closely resembles the former in terms of its internal specs. An already available device that draws a close comparison to these two offerings is the Lenovo Z5. Let’s take an in-depth look at all three devices to assess how the two Motorola smartphones stack up against their competition.

The Lenovo Z5 is priced at 1,299 yuan (Rs.13,400 approx) for its 6GB RAM + 64GB storage offering. A 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is also offered for 1,799 yuan (Rs.18,500 approx).

The Moto P30 released in China earlier this month priced at 2,099 yuan (Rs.21,500 approx.) for its 6GB RAM + 64GB storage offering. This phone is also available in a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration for 2,499 yuan (Rs.25,500 approx.).

The Moto One Power is yet to receive a formal unveiling for the public. As such, we don’t yet have a confirmed pricing for this device. However, the current speculation based on the phone’s leaked specs point to a price tag somewhere in the range of Rs.20,000.

All three phones here feature bezel-less designs adorned with a wide notch at the top. The Moto P30 and Lenovo Z5 feature glass back constructions. The Moto Power One, on the other hand, seems to be using either a metallic or plastic construction. Either way, both Motorola phones are said to feature P2i’s water-repellent nano-coating while the Lenovo device doesn’t claim any such rating.

As for their displays, the Moto P30 comes with a 6.2-inch, 1080 x 2246 resolution LCD with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 82 percent screen-to-body ratio. It so happens that the Lenovo Z5 comes with pretty much the same display specifications other than a slightly higher screen-to-body ratio at 83.6 percent. The Moto One Power is said to come with a 6.18-inch, Full HD+ resolution screen as well. This screen also features an impressive 81 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 SoC powers all three smartphones in this comparison. You will be able to enjoy 1.8GHz of clocked speed of octa-core CPU on all these phones. All three will also likely come with Android Oreo installed by default. However, one benefit of the Motorola phones is that they will probably feature stock Android UI while the Z5 comes with Lenovo’s custom skin.

The Moto P30 has been equipped with a 16MP + 5MP AI dual-camera setup at the rear. The front camera on this device measures 12MP which is accompanied by an LED flash for better low-light selfies. A similar camera setup is expected to arrive on the Moto One Power.

On the other hand, the Lenovo Z5 comes with a 16MP + 8MP setup at the back, but features an inferior 8MP sensor at the front without a dedicated LED flash. However, the rear camera of this phone is confirmed to support 4K video recording while it is still uncertain if the Motorola devices support the same.

The battery life is one aspect where the Moto One Power is expected to outshine the competition. The phone is said to come fuelled by a massive 5000mAh cell. The Moto P30 comes with a mediocre 3000mAh battery. The Lenovo Z5 is slightly better in this aspect with a 3300mAh cell. All phones support fast charging over USB Type-C.

While it is clear that the Moto One Power will offer an amazing battery within an unimpressive outer shell, it is too early to make final judgments before we know the exact pricing of this device. Between the Moto P30 and the Lenovo Z5, the latter offers the most value overall as it is priced noticeably lower. The only way we would be able to recommend the Moto One Power over the Lenovo smartphone is if it is priced even lower than the Z5.
