The successor to the Pixel 2 XL, the Google Pixel 3 XL has shown up online once again, but in the most bizarre fashion. Apparently, someone was using a Lyft as their commute and they accidentally left the upcoming flagship in the backseat of the car. Now when something like this happens, you only have yourself to blame because a whole hands-on image gallery of the flagship has shown, revealing certain things about the ‘soon to be launched’ gadget.
Google Pixel 3 XL: Hands-on Images Leak, Details
According to the anonymous Lyft driver, he was dropping off some passengers when he spotted the Google Pixel 3 XL at the backseat of the car. At first, he thought that he accidentally left his Pixel 2 XL but that was completely wrong. It turned out to be Google’s unannounced flagship smartphone and the latest hands-on images of the handset reveal that it is indeed the device we are talking about right now.
There are several design changes of the Pixel 3 XL that have leaked previously which confirm that is it the upcoming smartphone Google plans on launching. For example, the Pixel 2 XL did feature a taller display, but it did not sport a notch. The Pixel 3 XL, however, does feature a notch and a large one at that. There is also a chin at the bottom of the handset, where a speaker grill cutout is also made.
We are also assuming that the earpiece at the top of the phone houses a speaker in order to provide a high-quality audio experience to the user. The colour of this model is black, as you can see from the images and sure enough, there is also a single camera located at the back of the phone, as previously reported leaks and rumours have suggested on countless occasions.
This looks to be an engineering sample of the actual device and whoever must have left it might have belonged to the hardware or software team at Google. Regardless, they might get into a lot of trouble for their actions.
Google Pixel 3 XL: Expected Specifications, Features
The Google Pixel 3 XL is said to arrive with an enormous 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 2960 x 1440 Quad HD+ resolution, 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and a large notch at the top. The device is also said to have active edges, which will allow users to perform certain tasks simply by squeezing on the sides of the phone.
The flagship smartphone from Google will be armed with Qualcomm’s 10nm chipset, the Snapdragon 845 and it will be paired with an Adreno 630 GPU. There might just be a single memory variant featuring 4GB of RAM with 64GB of onboard storage, though Google might sell higher-tier internal memory models for a bigger price.
As mentioned in the leak, Google is sticking with a single camera unit at the back of the Pixel 3 XL. Reports have stated that the maximum resolution of the primary camera will be 12.2MP with a f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. However, the front of the phone will have a dual-camera setup, each lens offering a maximum resolution of 8.1MP.
The Pixel 3 XL will be running stock Android, with the latest Android 9 Pie featured as the update. As for the battery, the upcoming flagship is said to house a 3430mAh unit and it will get charged via Type-C USB port.
