Realme 2 Pro: Expected Price in India

In an interview given to The Mobile Indian a few weeks back, Realme Chief Executive Officer Madhav Seth had claimed that the Realme 2 Pro will be more expensive than the Realme 1 but will be priced below the Rs.20,000 mark. We can expect the top-end variant of the Realme 2 Pro to be priced somewhere around Rs.17,000. The base variant, on the other hand, might start at somewhere around Rs.12,000. It will be taking on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi Mi A2, Nokia 6.1 Plus, and other popular budget Android smartphones available under Rs.20,000 in India currently.

Realme 2 Pro: Specifications, Features

The Realme 2 Pro is expected to come with a similar notched display as the Realme 2, boasting a significantly improved screen-to-body ratio compared to the Realme 1. However, instead of the HD+ resolution on the Realme 2, the Realme 2 Pro is expected to feature Full HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. In terms of performance, the Realme 2 Pro is likely to be a major upgrade over the Realme 2. While the Realme 2 runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor with an Adreno 506 GPU, rumors suggest the upcoming Realme 2 Pro might run on a Snapdragon 660 or Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor under the hood. In the memory department, the smartphone could come equipped with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For further expansion, the Realme 2 Pro is expected to include a microSD card slot as well.

Moving on to optics, the Realme 2 Pro will no doubt feature dual cameras at the rear with AI-backed features like intelligent scene detection, portrait mode, and more. On the front, we can expect the smartphone to feature a more impressive selfie snapper than the 8MP unit on the Realme 2. In case the Realme 2 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 6XX chipset under the hood, we can expect it to offer all the modern connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Dual 4G VoLTE. For biometric authentication, the Realme 2 Pro could come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as Face Unlock support. Battery life is another area where the Realme 2 Pro is expected to be an impressive offer. Realme 2 comes with a large 4230mAh capacity battery, so we are hopeful of seeing a similar-sized battery inside the Realme 2 Pro as well. Additionally, the “Pro” model could come with fast charging support too. In terms of software, the Realme 2 Pro will probably debut with the Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 version out of the box.
