The Government of India has issued an order of banning another 43 Chinese apps in the country. The latest ban order restricts users from accessing these apps under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The action was taken on the inputs regarding these apps for “engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.” The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has issued the order for blocking the access of these apps by users in India based on the comprehensive reports received from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Government bans 43 more apps in India under section 69A of the Information Technology Act
The latest list of 43 Chinese apps banned in India comes a few months after the government first banned 59 Chinese apps, followed by another order that banned 118 Chinese apps. This was again followed by another ban order that banned 47 more Chinese apps, which were mostly “Lite” apps of the previously banned apps. The fresh list of 43 Chinese apps banned includes popular apps like AliExpress, SnackVideo, and CamCard.

The ministry, in its press release, said that the government is committed to protect the interests of citizens and sovereignty and integrity of India on all fronts and it shall take all possible steps to ensure that.
