Taiwanese PC giant, Acer, today announced its new Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop in India. The laptop will be sold at a starting price of Rs. 1,19,999 in India, through Acer’s offline and online stores, and e-commerce platform Flipkart. The Predator Helio is amongst the cheapest VR-ready machines that you can buy in India, though it is not without competitors either. The company has been launching the product in global markets over the past few months, and is amongst the current crop of laptops that have Intel’s new 11th gen processor inside.

Acer Predator Helios 300 specs and features

As mentioned before, the Predator Helios 300 sports the 11th generation Intel Core i7 processors, along with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 30 series graphics chips. The laptops will also offer up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and will have IPS displays that offer up to 240Hz refresh rate. The display also delivers 3ms response time, and offers “3D simulated surround sounds” with DTX-X Ultra audio tuning. Additionally, the Predator Helios 300 also sports Acer’s proprietary 4th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans, which handle cooling for the device.

Further, the Predator Helios weighs 2.3kg and is 22.9mm thick. It will support Nvidia’s new Ray Tracing technology. The processors inside have the second generation Ray Tracing Cores and third generation Tensor cores, which are meant to drive graphics for AAA gaming titles. You will also get the Killer E2600 Ethernet controller and a 2.0 version of Acer’s Control Center.

Further, the Predator Helio 300 has a 40zone RGB customized keyboard with Acer’s Predator typeface and the see-through concave keycaps for the WASD keys, which are common amongst gamers. The keyboard also has two Turbo and PredatorSense keys, which allow access to custom utilities built in by Acer.

Lastly, the laptops include one HDMI 2.0 port, a miniDP port and support the USB 3.2 standard with first and second generation support.

While Acer says the laptops will be available on various channels, we would expect lower availability right now, given the rise in covid-19 cases across the country, and ensuing lockdowns. It’s possible that the company will face supply issues, so you should try to pick up your Predator Helio 300 as soon as you can.
