
Airtel on Monday has announced the launch of its 5G service in four cities of Jammu and Kashmir. The telecom giant has expanded its 5G service in Katra, Anantnag, Baramulla & Rajouri in Jammu & Kashmir. The telco already has its 5G service available in Jammu, Srinagar, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Akhnoor, Kupwara, Lakhanpur and Khour. The company says that its 5G service will be available in a phased manner as it continues to construct its network and complete the rollout.
Airtel 5G Now Available In These Four New Cities Of Jammu & Kashmir:
- Katra,
- Anantnag,
- Baramulla
- Rajouri
Airtel users living in Katra, Anantnag, Baramulla & Rajouri can experience the Airtel 5G on their 5G compatible devices. The company has not announced any 5G plans as of now, so users can use the 5G service on their existing 4G plan. Additionally, users must note that they don’t need a new SIM card to access the 5G service. Prior to the launch of its 5G service in four new cities of Jammu and Kashmir, Airtel had introduced 5G in 5 cities of Odisha, and 10 cities of Bihar a few days back.
The telco had made available its 5G service in cities such as Begusarai, Katihar, Purnia, Dhenkanal, Paradeep, and Bargarh. The company’s 5G service is already live in cities like Cuttack, Rourkela, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Anugul, Sambalpur, Berhampur, and Balasore. A few days back, the company also had introduced it 5G service in North East India cities like Kohima, Dimapur, Aizawl, Gangtok, Silchar, Dibrugarh & Tinsukia.

In a piece of related news, Airtel recently confirmed that it has added 10 million users in its 5G network. To recall, the company announced its 5G Plus services in October last year. Since, then the company has managed to expand its 5G network in 150 cities, including metros and tier II cities.
Meanwhile, Airtel’s competitor Jio is also expanding its 5G service in new cities every week. The company as of now has its 5G service live in 277 cities. Recently Jio announced the launch of its 5G service in 20 cities. The company expanded its 5G service in Assam’s Bongaigaon, North Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Tinsukia, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Mormugao, Diu (Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu), Gandhidham, Bokaro Steel City, Deoghar, Hazaribag, Raichur, Satna, Chandrapur, Ichalkaranji, Thoubal, Faizabad, Firozabad, and Muzaffarnagar.
Additionally, the company introduced its 5G service in Shimla, Hamirpur, Nadaun, and Bilaspur a few days back. Prior to that, Jio had released its service in some cities of Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
