
Airtel has managed to add more than 1 million 5G users mark in Mumbai. This development comes two days after adding more than 10 million customers in more than 140 cities. Notably, Airtel was the first telecom operator that launched a 5G network in the country and has so far added 151 cities. However, it is planning to add 300 cities by the end of March this year and expects to cover all circles by March 2024 end.
Airtel 5G Plus Services In Mumbai
For those uninitiated, Airtel 5G Plus services are live in several locations of Mumbai, such as Nariman Point, Film City, The Gateway of India, Chhatrapati Shivaji railway Terminus (CST), Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai Metro junctions of Ghatkopar & Andheri. The 5G services of Airtel is providing 30 times better than the 4G LTE network. Apart from launching services in Mumbai, the telco has launched 5G services in metros, tier II, and III cities.

Airtel and Reliance Jio 5G Services
It is important to note that Airtel and Jio are providing 5G services in the country and both are very active in terms of bringing the network to new cities. India’s largest telecom operator Reliance Jio has so far added 304 cities, whereas Airtel services are available in more than 140 cities. On the other hand, Vodafone-Idea is in deep crisis and has no money to bring the new network into the country. Additionally, the investments made by Jio and Airtel in 5G are helping India in terms of increasing speed as the country has managed to get 69th rank in the speed test index.
