Airtel is giving out 5GB of high speed mobile data free to its subscribers. The leading Indian telecom company will grant the extra data to its prepaid subscribers. However, to avail the benefits, subscribers will have to be prompt about recharging their Airtel prepaid mobile number.
Airtel prepaid subscribers will get an additional 5GB mobile data over and above the quota allocated to them as per their recharge plan. Incidentally, Airtel is offering the extra data to subscribers from a select few circles. Moreover, there’s a simple condition the subscribers have to fulfill if they want to be eligible to receive 5GB extra data from Airtel. Let’s take a closer look at the interesting and attractive offer from Airtel.
Aitel Sending Out SMSs To Prepaid Subscribers With Additional 5GB Data Offer
Airtel has begun sending out SMSes to its prepaid subscribers. Airtel auto-generates the text messages as the prepaid subscribers are nearing the expiry of their current recharge. Instead of just reminding them to recharge their account to ensure continuation of uninterrupted service, the telecom company is also throwing in extra 5GB data as an incentive.
The text message reads the subscriber is eligible for an additional 5GB of data if the user recharges before the expiry of their recharge plan. The 5GB extra data offer or incentive is extended to the subscribers who recharge with INR 249. The only condition is that the subscriber does not wait until the plan expires.
Airtel’s INR 249 recharge currently gets the subscribers 2GB of data and up to 100 SMSes per day. The plans also allows unlimited roaming, local and STD calling. As with all the plans in active deployment, the INR 249 Plan too, has a validity of 28 days.
Incidentally, the additional 5GB mobile data is also available for the INR 199 recharge plan. Moreover, along with the recharge of INR 199, subscribers are also eligible for slightly more than 100 percent Cashback Offer. Airtel is allowing subscribers to get a complete cashback in the form of recharge vouchers. Subscribers can redeem the vouchers during the subsequent recharges.
Subscribers get a link from the telecom company to avail the cashback offer. The discount recharge vouchers have a generous validity of 2 years. Airtel currently restricts the usability of the recharge vouchers. The telecom company mandates the usage of the recharge vouchers must happen through its My Airtel App. Needless to mention, the method is quite similar to the one adopted by companies like Vodafone India and Reliance Jio.
Telecom Companies Move Towards Mandatory 28 Days Recharge Cycle
The Indian telecom companies have accelerated towards the mandatory 28 days recharge cycle. Most of the telecom companies, the exception being Reliance Jio, even informed their subscribers that several numbers with infrequent usage and recharge patterns will be shut down.
However, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India or TRAI has granted some interim relief to the subscribers. The authority asked the leading telecom companies including Airtel, Vodafone and Idea, not to disconnect SIMs if the subscriber maintains minimum account balance.
