Data consumption in the world has grown by a significant amount in the last couple of years, especially since the introduction of Reliance Jio in India. Telecom operators have now moved from offering 2GB of data per month to 2GB of data a day. Consumers now have a wide range of alternatives thanks to increased data consumption demand and intense competition from rival telecom companies.
In India, Jio, Airtel, and Vi provide a number of prepaid recharge packs to their customers. There are 2GB/day recharge plans among them, which are suitable for individuals who want access to the internet on the go, when not connected to Wi-Fi. Unlimited voice calls to all networks across the country, a daily quota of free outgoing SMS, and additional benefits are included in the plans. In this post, let’s compare all the prepaid recharge plans from India’s leading telecom operators, Airtel, Jio and Vi to find out which telecom operator offers the best 2GB/day plans in the country.
Airtel vs Jio vs Vi: 2GB/day Plans with 28 Days Validity
To begin, Airtel offers a variety of plans that include 2GB of data each day and run for 28 days or a month. Airtel’s Rs 319 plan includes a full month of validity, truly unlimited phone calls, and a daily SMS quota of 100, as well as the typical Airtel perks like Hellotunes, Wynk Music, and more.
Airtel users also have the option to go with a Rs 359 plan that bundles access to 28-days of Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition and Xstream Mobile pack. Jio’s cheapest 2GB/day package costs Rs 299 for a 28-day period. Unlimited phone calls, 100 SMS a day, and subscriptions to Jio’s platforms such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity, and JioCloud are all included in Jio’s plan.
Vi, on the other hand, presents a Rs 319 package that includes truly unlimited calls and 2GB of data every day for a month, or 31 days. All three operators also offer a Rs 499 pack that brings all the goodness of the regular 2GB/day plans but adds an additional subscription to one full year of Disney+ Hotstar Mobile.
Upon calculations, Airtel’s effective per day cost turns out to be Rs 10.3, Jio’s cost ends up at Rs 10.67 and Vi’s stands at Rs 10.3. Comparing plans from all the three operators, Airtel and Vi offer better value, in terms of pricing. You may also look at other operators if you wish to include access to streaming platforms like Disney+ Hotstar.
Airtel vs Jio vs Vi: 2GB/day Plans with 56 Days Validity
Airtel provides a Rs 549 package that includes 2GB of data per day, unlimited phone calls, 100 SMS per day, Xstream Mobile Pack (56 days), Prime Video Mobile Edition (56 days), Apollo 24×7 Circle (3 months), Hellotunes, and Wynk Music access.
Users may select between two Reliance Jio plans – Rs 533 and Rs 799. Both plans provide similar characteristics, including 2GB of data per day, 100 SMS per day, unlimited phone calls, and access to Jio’s platforms. The Rs 799 package, however, includes a 1-year Disney+ Hotstar Mobile membership worth Rs 499.
With the exclusion of Jio’s streaming services and the inclusion of Weekend data rollover, Vi Movies and TV, and free internet access from 12 am to 6 am, Vi’s Rs 539 plan offers identical features to Jio’s Rs 533 plan.
When comparing these plans directly, Jio emerges victorious, with its Rs 533 package outspending competitors Airtel and Vi by a razor-thin margin. Airtel’s daily cost ends up at Rs 9.8, Jio’s cost is Rs 9.5 and Vi charges Rs 9.6.
Airtel vs Jio vs Vi: 2GB/day Plans with 84 Days Validity
Airtel is currently offering an Rs 839 prepaid recharge package that includes 2GB of daily internet and unlimited phone calls. Additionally, the package provides 100 SMS each day. Customers will also receive a three-month membership to Disney+ Hotstar Mobile, an Airtel Xstream Mobile bundle, Rs 100 FASTag cashback, and more. Once purchased, the prepaid plan is good for 84 days.
The Rs 719 Jio recharge bundle includes 2GB of data every day. Unlimited local, STD, and national roaming calls are included in the package. It also offers unlimited SMSes, with a daily restriction of 100 SMSes.
Vi’s competing plan costs Rs 839 and offers comparable features to the Rs 539 plan, but with an 84-day validity period. It comes with the same 2GB of data per day, unlimited calls to any network, 100 SMS per day, and Vi Movies & TV Classic access. There’s the Binge All Night scheme, weekend data rollover, and 2GB data backup every month.
Jio and Vi both offer a Rs 1,066 plan that includes a yearly membership to Disney+ Hotstar Mobile, as well as 2GB of high-speed internet per day, unlimited phone conversations, and 100 SMS messages per day. The plans have an 84-day validity period.
In this scenario, Airtel does not compete directly with Jio or Vi because its only 84-day plan is Rs 839 and includes three months of Disney+ Hotstar Mobile access, whereas the other two mobile companies do not offer a plan with a three-month Hotstar membership. However, if you go for the lowest option, Jio’s Rs 719 prepaid recharge bundle comes out on top.
Airtel vs Jio vs Vi: 2GB/day Plans with 365 Days Validity
Airtel’s only stand in the 365-day category is its Rs 2,999 plan with a free Disney+ Hotstar mobile subscription for one year, unlimited local, STD, and roaming voice calling benefits, 2GB data per day, free trial to Amazon Prime Video Mobile plan, free Wynk Music access, and more for a validity period of 365 days.
Reliance Jio’s annual prepaid package costs Rs 2,879. The prepaid package includes 2GB of data each day and a 365-day validity period. This equates to 730GB of data throughout the course of the subscription period. The package also includes unlimited phone calls and 100 SMS each day.
While the Rs. 2,999 Jio prepaid recharge plan does not quite fall into the 2GB per day bracket, it does include unlimited internet (2.5GB per day), unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS messages per day. The package is good for 365 days and includes a free subscription to Jio applications. A one-year Disney+ Hotstar Mobile membership is also included.
Finally, Vi’s competing plan is a Rs 3,099 offering that brings unlimited calling, up to 100 SMS per day and 2 GB of data per day. It includes a Disney+Hotstar Mobile subscription for 1 year. It is valid for 365 days.
Jio once again takes a victory with both its Rs 2,879 and Rs 2,999 plans offering more than its rivals. Reliance Jio has emerged victorious in most of the categories under the 2GB/day plan.
