Aiwa was a popular brand in India back in the 90s when it came to audio-video products. That brand, however, made an exit from the Indian market more than a decade ago. Well, Aiwa is now back. The brand has re-entered the Indian market with a plethora of audio-video products. At the launch event held in Delhi, Aiwa showcased a number of audio-video products including LED TVs, SMART home audio systems, voice-enabled Bluetooth speakers, and personal audio products. According to Aiwa all of its products will be simple, affordable, user-friendly, and equipped with the latest technology.
Although Aiwa showcased a plethora of products, the launch event was focused towards TVs. The LED TV range that Aiwa has launched in India includes a total of six TV sets which comprise of a 75-inch 4K TV, a 55-inch TV, and a 43-inch TV. According to Aiwa, its TVs feature Quantum Dots Light Emitting Technology, Superlative Resolution, Quantum Smart HDR, voice command technology, and more importantly, these TVs come with Android OS. Aiwa says it will price these TVs between INR 7,999 to INR 1,99,000. Detailed specifications, price, and availability details might soon be revealed.
Aiwa has a firm belief that, in spite of tough competition, the brand will do well in the Indian market. In fact, Aiwa says that it aims to sell about 200,000 units per annum. Commenting on the launch, Mr. Jeffrey Alan Goldberg representing AIWA internationally, said, “We decided to launch this great brand in India because this is one of the most dynamic markets in the world with huge potential. While there are many other products in the market, the ability of the Indian consumer to lap up the most innovative technology is unmatchable. Moreover, the sense of nostalgia when it comes to AIWA is strong here, and I am sure India will embrace the new brand identity with love and joy.”
Speaking about brand strategy, Mrs. Manmit Chaudhry, Managing Director, AIWA India, said, “We believe in working relentlessly to provide Indian consumers with a wide choice of products with innovative, advanced features that meet specific requirements across different demographics and price brackets. This launch is the first step in that direction and will cater to the ever-evolving expectations of our target audience for simple and affordable technology products. We plan to invest approximately over Rs 200 crores in the coming years.”
