The release of psychological horror Alan Wake 2 from Remedy Entertainment before the Halloween week is nearing. The game was originally set to release on October 17 but later received a 10-day delay for its launch. Remedy Entertainment has already promised a slew of DLC in addition to a dark plot in the company of the famous writer.
During an onstage EGX interview, as reported by Eurogamer, Sam Lake, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainments, promised additional post-launch fun in the form of free DLC. He stated:”We do have free DLC drops coming, and they are pretty significant. I’m expecting us to be going more into detail pretty soon after the game is out, but all of that will be free for everyone who gets the game.”

Following this statement, Lake provided no specifics on the content of these DLCs, however, the FAQ section of the Alan Wake website hints that two add-ons for the game are in development work-in-progress dubbed as “Night Springs” and “Lake House.” It’s unclear whether they correlate to the free expansions in question, but as Lake stated, additional information will be revealed after the game gets released.

Remedy revealed earlier this year that once the title is published, gamers will receive both free and paid DLC updates, but there was no information on how comprehensive the free add-ons will be. With Sam Lake’s announcement being defined as “pretty significant,” there is already a lot of excitement regarding the launch of these DLCs and what they may contain, even though the game has yet to be launched.
