
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Huami has launched the Amazfit Verge 2 smartwatch in China. The Amazfit Verge 2 comes as the successor to the Amazfit Verge that was launched last year. Amazfit Verge 2 Pricing and Availability
The Amazfit Verge 2 comes in three variants. First up is the standard variant, and it costs CNY 999. The second variant is the ECG version, and it comes with a price tag of CNY 1,299. The third variant is the Avengers Limited Edition, and it is available at CNY 1,499.
The standard variant of the Amazfit Verge 2 is up for reservation in China, while the ECG version and the Avengers Limited Edition will be available sometime in July. Huami hasn’t announced the pricing and availability details of the Amazfit Verge 2 for markets outside China.
Amazfit Verge 2 Specifications
The Amazfit Verge 2 sports a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 454 x 454 pixels resolution. The display resolution is higher than that of most smartwatches out there. The display also features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The Amazfit Verge 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2500 chipset. This SoC has quad-core Cortex A7 CPU and Adreno 304 GPU. The smartwatch packs 512MB LPDDR3 RAM and 4GB of eMMC storage. The Amazfit Verge 2 runs on Huami’s proprietary operating system – the AMAZFIT OS. The smartwatch features an accelerometer, geomagnetic sensor, ambient light sensor, BioTracker PPG sensor, and an ECG monitor (only in ECG version).
The smartwatch can be used with either Android or iOS devices. And speaking of connectivity, the Amazfit Verge 2 has Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and more importantly, the smartwatch has an eSIM with 4G VoLTE. Thanks to the cellular support, you can take calls on Amazfit Verge 2. And to make that possible, the smartwatch has a speaker and a microphone. The smartwatch is also IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.
With the help of GPS and all the onboard sensors, the Amazfit Verge 2 can automatically track as many as ten sports activities including walking, indoor running, outdoor running, trail running, indoor riding, outdoor riding, football, skipping, elliptical, and mountaineering. There’s sleep tracking option as well. The ECG version can store up to 60 minutes of ECG data on the watch for up to 7 days. The smartwatch packs a 420mAh battery, and according to Huami, the Amazfit Verge 2 can last up to 28 hours on a single charge.
