Motorola’s upcoming Android smartphone, the Moto Z4 is yet to be officially launched in the US. We have, in fact, been hearing several rumors about the device, most of which talked about the expected specifications of the device. However, several weeks before it was supposed to be launched, the Moto Z4, at least temporarily, went on sale on Amazon. While this is certainly not the first time that an unreleased device was ‘accidentally’ listed on an e-commerce platform, what is different this time is that at least one person was able to purchase the device from the site. If that wasn’t all, the product actually got delivered to him a few days later. Things did not end there. The person who managed to buy the device posted an unboxing and first impressions video of the device soon after the phone was delivered to him. He also went ahead and shared the video on Reddit following which it went viral.

Moto Z4 Unboxing, First Impressions Video

Before you read further, take a look at the video in which almost all the aspects of the Moto Z4 is revealed in painstaking detail. Unsurprisingly, a few hours after the Reddit thread went viral, Amazon removed the listing, and the Moto Z4 is no longer available on the platform, much to the disappointment of prospective buyers. It would be interesting to see if either Motorola or Amazon will have an official response regarding these developments.

Moto Z4: Specifications, Features

Based on information from the first impressions video, we can now confirm that the Moto Z4 uses a 6.3-inch OLED panel with Full-HD resolution. The panel uses Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection. The display also has a small notch at the top where the front-facing camera is housed. As for the processor, the Moto Z4 uses the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC and comes with 4GB RAM of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. You also get a microSD card slot augmenting the storage further. The 3,600 mAh battery also supports 15W fast charging. The phone also gets a 3.5mm audio jack.  The camera setup includes a single 48-megapixel camera at the rear that uses pixel binning to capture 12-megapixel images and a 25-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. For security, the handset also gets an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone does not seem to have an IP rating for water or dust ingression. It does, however, come with a P2i coating that makes it splash proof. The chassis is claimed to be made of 6000 series aluminum.

Moto Z4: Pricing Details

The Amazon listing has pegged the price of the Moto Z4 at $499. What we are not sure about is whether this price includes a bunch of Moto Mods as well. At that price point, the phone has to square off with the likes of the Pixel 3a and the OnePlus 7. That being said, we are hopeful that Motorola will reduce the price when the actual launch of the phone happens – hopefully, a few weeks from now. Another interesting piece of information that has come to light is Motorola launching another device called the Moto Z4 Force along with the standard Moto Z4. This handset, as per initial reports, will be a flagship phone and will be powered by the SD 855 SoC.
