Amazon Prime is likely to launch a new plan for its customers in India. The streaming giant is expected to bring a new subscription plan for Rs 999, which might be known as ‘Prime Lite’. To those unaware, the company increased the prices of the Prime plan to Rs 1,499 from Rs 999; however, the Lite version will be an ad-supported plan.
The plan is under testing and currently available for a few users, reports Only Tech. The report said that this plan will offer two days of standard delivery and deals like five percent cashback on ICICI credit cards. In addition, customers will get Prime video access, which means they can watch content with ads. Plus, the report claims the video quality will be SD, and only two devices are allowed to stream content at the same time.
How Is Amazon Prime Lite Different From Amazon Prime?
Apart from ads, Amazon Prime Lite customers will not be allowed to access the no-cost EMI option, one-day delivery, Amazon Prime Music access, free ebooks, Prime Gaming, and same-day delivery. This plan is specially designed for those who don’t want to spend more money on content and can watch movies or shows in SD quality.
At this point, there’s no word from Amazon when we will get to see the new ‘Lite’ subscription in India. But since it is reportedly being tested in the country may mean that we could see this new subscription model this year.
