Amazon Prime Video and Animax on Demand might soon delight anime lovers in India. According to a recent report, Amazon might soon offer Animax on Demand as a channel for its Prime Video OTT service. The anime channel has been spotted on the platform, and several anime have also been listed on the channel. Amazon Prime Video channels are basically other OTT apps subscription available for a cheaper rental to Amazon Prime users. Here’s all you need to know about the latest development.
Amazon Prime Video Might Animax on Demand Channel Soon

For the uninitiated, Amazon Prime Video offers various OTT services on its platform as channels. Users can subscribe to most of these channels for a lower rate than their actual subscription fee, should you subscribe on their dedicated apps. Prime Video offers channels like Hoichoi, Lionsgate Play, Discover Plus, Mubi, Eros NOW, Docubay, Shorts TV, and more. And it might soon add Animax on Demand to the list, much to the delight of anime lovers in the country.
OnlyTech has spotted the Animax on Demand channel being tested on the OTT platform. The channel is owned by KC Global Media, which also owns other channels in Asia, such as AXN Asia, One, and Gem. Moreover, as spotted by the publication, the animes listed on the Prime Video channel are all licensed by KC Global Media. So, it’s safe to assume that Prime Video will soon offer Animax on Demand to its users as a channel in India.

The Animax on Demand channel is available in Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mongolia, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Philippines, and Singapore. Currently, there’s no word on how much the channel will cost to subscribe for Indian users. It’s already available to Jio users in India as per the official website of Animax. MySmartPrice checked the JioTV app, and it seems that anime series are being offered to JioTV users for free with ads. Amazon Prime Video’s subscription fee for Animax in India remains to be seen.
