The Apple Diwali offer has gone live today, which gives users a free pair of AirPods if they purchase any variant of the iPhone 12 or 12 mini via the Apple India online store. The offer appears to be applicable only on the iPhone 12 series devices, and only the regular ones – the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max have been officially withdrawn from the market. Interestingly, the deal applies on all variants of the AirPods in-ear monitors, which you can either get for free, or at a discounted price. Here’s how the deal works.
Apple Diwali offers: how to get AirPods for free
The offer, as stated above, is applicable only on the iPhone 12 and 12 mini, and offers the AirPods, AirPods (2nd gen) and AirPods Pro with the special offer. Here’s how the breakdown works.
- With any iPhone 12 or 12 mini, users get an AirPods (1st gen) with charging case for free.
- If users wish to upgrade to the 2nd gen AirPods that feature a wireless charging case, the MSRP of the 1st gen AirPods, i.e. Rs 14,900, will be reduced from the retail price of the 2nd gen AirPods, i.e. Rs 18,900. Hence, users purchasing the iPhone 12 or 12 mini will be required to spend an added Rs 4,000 to get the AirPods with wireless charging case.
- If users wish to go all the way to the AirPods Pro, a similar calculation will be applied, and Rs 14,900 will be reduced from the MSRP of the AirPods Pro. With the latter being priced at Rs 24,900 in India, this means that users will be required to pay an additional Rs 10,000 to get the latest variant of Apple’s in-ear AirPods, along with an iPhone 12 or 12 mini.
The iPhones themselves are now retailing at reduced prices, since the introduction of the iPhone 13 series. The iPhone 12 mini is now available at a starting price of Rs 59,900 for the 64GB variant, while the iPhone 12 now starts at Rs 65,900 for its base storage variant as well. Product exchanges or trade-ins will also apply on top of the Apple Diwali offer, which can give you an added discount on top of the free AirPods deal.
