Apple event on October 18

Apple event called ‘Unleashed’ will be hosted on October 18. At the event, the company could finally announce the new, powerful M1X MacBook Pro. Rumours of the upcoming MacBook Pro models have leaked multiple times in the past. Apple is expected to unveil two new models. While we have seen the Pro MacBook come in 16-inch screen size, Apple is said to bump the screen size of the base model. Instead of a 13” display, the upcoming MacBook Pro is rumoured to feature a 14” display. Both models are likely to feature a mini-LED display, which was first unveiled on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro earlier this year.

The highlight feature, however, is going to the M1X chip. Both models will come with an improved version of the M1 chip. It will have a 10-core CPU. However, one of them, possibly the 14-inch model will come with a 16-core GPU, whereas the other model will come with up to 32-core GPU. The new Apple silicone is said to support up to 64GB of RAM.

On the outside, the MacBook Pro is also said to get more ports. Apple is reviving the SD card slot and bringing it back on the MacBook Pro 2021, according to rumours. It will also include an HDMI port alongside two USB Type-C ports. Lastly, both models could feature magnetic charging support.

AirPods 3? May be

Apple could also announce the long-rumoured AirPods third-generation at the event on October 18. The budget AirPods is said to get a major redesign for the first time since inception. It will come with an AirPods Pro-like design with a shorter stem. However, there might not be support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

There is no official word from Apple and we will know more details only on October 18.
