Apple has announced a new iPad Air today with the M1 chip, 5G connectivity, and new gaming capabilities. The company also announced the new iPhone SE 2022 and new Green colour options for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro on the same stage. Let’s take a look at the details of the new iPad Air from Apple.
Apple iPad Air Price and Availability
The new Apple iPad Air starts at $ 599 for the base variant with 64GB. The tablet will go on pre-order starting March 11 and will be available for purchase from March 18. In India, the iPad Air Wi-Fi model starts at Rs 54,900 and the Wi-Fi + 5G Cellular model starts at 68,900. It will be available in space grey, starlight, pink, purple, and blue colour options.

Apple iPad Air Specifications and Features
The latest Apple iPad Air sports a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits peak brightness, P3 wide colour gamut, and an anti-reflective screen coating. Under the hood, it is powered by Apple’s in-house M1 chipset, which also powers the last-gen Apple laptops.
The newest tablet comes with a new gaming capability with the option to stream games with up to 4K resolution. Compared to the last-gen iPad Air, this new model offers 60% faster performance and the octa-core GPU delivers up to 2x faster GPU performance. For video calls and conferences, the tablet comes with a 12MP wide camera with support for 4K video shooting and AR experiences. Further, the iPad Air also comes with a USB Type-C port that delivers up to 2x faster transfer speeds and there is also support for 5G cellular connectivity onboard.
The new iPad Air also works with Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard Folio, Smart Folio covers and Magic Keyboard. In terms of software, the tab runs on iPadOS 15 offering features like split view, quick note, sharply, and universal control, which will be arriving with the iPadOS 15.4 and macOS 12.3 update next week. Other features include Wi-Fi 6, eSIM support, and all-day battery life.
