Apple, at the Spring Loaded Event, unveiled a bunch of new products. Among the list of new products was the 2021 iPad Pro. The two Pro tablets come with an M1 chip found on the iMac 2021 and the MacBook models. It now looks like Apple is gearing up for the launch of more iPads later this year. The company has registered as many as nine iPads in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). These model identifiers have the numbers A2568, A2569, A2589, A2604, A2377, A2378, A2567, A2588, A2602. Let’s take a look at the upcoming iPads details that are listed on the EEC.
Apple registers nine new iPad models in Eurasian Economic Commission
Apple might launch more iPad models later this year. The company has registered a total of nine iPad models in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The EEC listing does not reveal much about the upcoming Apple products. It only reveals the model numbers of the models. These are A2568, A2569, A2589, A2604, A2377, A2378, A2567, A2588, A2602. The listing also includes filings for the fifth-generation AirPort Time Capsule and the AirPort Express. It is surprising to see this as both devices were discontinued in 2018. It could be the model numbers of the recently launched 11-inch and 12.9-inch Pro iPads. Both models were unveiled at the Spring Loaded event on April 20.
It is currently unknown which iPads is Apple working on. The company has already launched the 2021 M1 iPad Pro models. The iPad Air 2020 was unveiled in September last year alongside the iPad 8th-generation. This means that Apple could refresh the iPad mini.
Some leaked rumours suggest that the mini 6 will have a boxy design with minimum bezels around the edges. It could be possible that Apple moves the Touch ID from the Home Button and places it on the power button like the iPad Air 2020. It will also feature a bigger 8.5-inch or a 9-inch display instead of the 7.9-inch screen.
A recent report from 9to5Mac, citing Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives, stated that Apple could launch the iPad mini 6 and a low-cost version at the Spring Loaded event. While that did not happen, we speculate that these models are the registered identifiers at the EEC. Apple could launch the new iPads at the WWDC 2021 or later this year.
