Last month, we spotted multiple new iPad models on the Russian Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) website. We have now spotted two new iPad model numbers on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website.
A2124, A2133 Model Numbers Spotted on BIS Website
The two model numbers that we have appeared on the BIS website include the A2124 and A2133. It should be noted that both these model numbers were spotted at the EEC as well last month. Unfortunately, there is still no information regarding the exact identity of these models numbers. This means we cannot be sure if the A2124 and A2133 are variants of a single iPad model or if they are two different upcoming iPad models. The BIS certification does not include any important information either, except that the two models will be manufactured by China’s Hongfujin Precision Electronics.
In his latest research note, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested Apple may release a total of four new iPad models this year. The lineup will reportedly include two new iPad Pro models, a new 10.2-inch iPad, and iPad mini 5. While the key features of the upcoming iPads have not been confirmed yet, Kuo has claimed all of them will come equipped with an upgraded processor. The iPad mini 5 is expected to sport a 7.9-inch Retina display and may offer Apple Pencil support as well. In terms of design, however, the iPad mini 5 is tipped to be more or less identical to its predecessor. As for the seventh-generation iPad, rumors suggest it may continue to use Touch ID. Apart from a bigger 10.2-inch display and a more powerful processor, we also expect to see a tweaked design with slimmer bezels. While no specific launch date has been confirmed yet, it is being speculated that Apple may hold a special event in March to announce the new iPad models.
