The new iPhone 13 series launched by Apple earlier this month is available on sale in India. Apple launched the four new iPhone models with a smaller notch among other upgrades under the hood. The 2021 iPhones continue to house a Face ID authentication setup that Apple first introduced in the iPhone X. Considered to be among the most secure smartphone unlocking mechanism, Face ID uses a number of sensors that map the user’s face and unlocks the device. Apple probably does not want users to repair the display or anything around the Face ID other than its authorised service. We say so based on a new report, which claims that Face ID stops working on the iPhone 13 series if the display has not been repaired or replaced outside of Apple’s authorised repair network.
