Apple launched the iPhone 13 series in India earlier this year. The company unveiled four new iPhone models as a successor of the iPhone 12 series. The iPhone 13 series, so far, was imported to India from other markets like Vietnam, China, etc. It looks like Apple is now manufacturing the new iPhone models in India. A new report from Economic Times claims that the US tech giant has started a trial run of production of the iPhone 13 series in Chennai. The company has partnered with Foxconn, which has been supplying iPhones for Apple in India and many other markets.

The report further states that Apple has secured the supply of semiconductor chips – which are currently scarce in terms of supply – for the iPhone 13 production in India. This comes after the iPhone 13 series had a long wait time in India, owing to limited supply. The report further states that local production will help Apple improve the supply of its latest iPhone and export it to other markets. Apple does not intend to produce the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max in India at the moment.

The move comes within three months of the iPhone’s launch in India, which is likely to be the fastest ever. Apple began the production of the iPhone 12 series in India earlier this year. The company also produces the iPhone 11 at Wistron’s facility in Bengaluru.
