- The Pro Models of the iPhone 15 Series may get a price hike this year.
- Apple is rumoured to use a titanium frame, along with a new design with thinner bezels on the iPhone 15 Series.
- The price difference between the regular iPhone 15, and the Pro models is also expected to be higher.

The Apple iPhone 15 Series is scheduled to launch tomorrow, September 12. The iPhone 15 is one of the most anticipated devices by Apple enthusiasts as the series is expected to get a significant design change with thinner bezels and USB Type-C port. Moreover, Apple will also be introducing its first 3nm processor, the Bionic A17 chip on the Pro models.
Amongst the excitement, it is now being reported that the Pro models of the iPhone 15 Series will get pricier. Experts are speculating that this price hike is a ripple effect of Apple’s sudden $200 billion devaluation after China banned the usage of iPhones by its government officials.
iPhone 15 Pro Models Are Going To Be Expensive
Apple Analyst Mark Gurman has reported that the Pro models of the iPhone 15 Series are expected to get a price hike. Since the launch of the iPhone X in 2017, Apple’s top model iPhone pricing has been around the $999 mark in the United States for the base storage variant. However, things might change as the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max could carry a higher sticker price.
Gurman says that Apple has been trying to increase its business revenue for the last few years. The company has not seen a significant increase in the number of units sold on a YoY basis. Hence, Apple is resorted to be launching 1TB variants of the iPhones, with prices as high as $1599.
Apple’s strategy appears to have worked for them, as the company has witnessed a revenue growth of $70 billion over five years while selling almost the same number of iPhones each year. The Cupertino giant appears to be confident about this approach, and hence it is expected to price the Pro models of the iPhone 15 Series a little higher than earlier.
As an Apple user, the news of a price hike does sound bothersome. However, from all the rumours that we have heard about the iPhone 15 Series to date, Apple is supposedly making major improvements in the iPhone 15 over its predecessor. As per Gurman, the price difference between the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Pro could be as high as $300.
Is a Price Hike Justified on the iPhone 15 Pro Models?
Apple is expected to use a titanium frame on the iPhone 15 Series. The Pro models are also rumoured to feature a periscope lens, which will increase the optical zoom capacity of the iPhone from 3X to 6X. Also, the Pro models will also feature the Bionic A17 chipset, which is the world’s first mass-produced 3nm chipset.
These rumours, when paired with Gurman’s leak about the price hike, suggest that Apple may try to justify the pricey Pro models of the iPhone 15 Series by offering these improvements. The newer design with thinner bezels, along with the presence of the USB Type-C suggests a significant design upgrade, just like Apple did while moving from the iPhone 8 to the iPhone X.
The demand for the iPhone 15 Series is expected to be extremely high with these changes. Even in a market that has shown a slowdown in smartphone demand, Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that Apple may overtake Samsung to become the largest smartphone maker in the world after the iPhone 15 launch.
