Apple recently launched the iPhone 13 series in India and other international markets. The new iPhone models come with an upgraded display and improved internals over the outgoing models. The base iPhone 13 mini starts at $699/ Rs 69,900 in India. Apple continues to sell the previous generation iPhone 12 in India for Rs 65,900 and the iPhone 12 mini for Rs 59,900. These iPhones are still expensive for most consumers and Apple is reportedly working on an affordable one. The iPhone SE 3 is rumoured to launch sometime around March or April, which is the typical upgrade cycle for Apple’s SE lineup. Let’s take a look at the leaked iPhone SE 3 specs, launch timeline and other details.
iPhone SE 3 specs leaked
Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone SE 3 sometime in Spring. This means that the budget iPhone could launch around April when the SE 2020 was unveiled. The MyDrivers report states that Apple will launch the iPhone SE 3 with an iPhone XR-like design. This means that Apple will upgrade the design of its SE lineup and launch the phone with an all-screen design. The SE 3 will have a notch cutout, according to the report. It further suggests that the phone will sport a 6.1-inch LCD, which is similar to the iPhone XR. This is contrary to previous rumours, which stated that the iPhone SE 3 will have a 4.7-inch display with Touch ID housed on the Home button below the display.
The MyDrivers report further states that Apple will launch the SE 3 with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Apple has launched the iPad models with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It could be possible that the SE 3 gets a similar treatment. However, it is unknown if the budget iPhone will also come equipped with Face ID. We feel the combination is unlikely as Apple’s premium iPhone lineup currently misses out on a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Therefore, the budget iPhone could come with some form of Touch ID implementation only. It could be below the display or as a side-mounted scanner.
As expected, the SE 3 will support 5G network. It is said to launch in China for CNY 3299 (roughly Rs 38,600). Some of the leaked details seem too good to be true at the moment. We, therefore, advise our readers to take the leaked details with a pinch of salt.
