Apple Event on Spatial Audio after WWDC 2021 Day 1
Apple is hosting a special event on June 7 after the WWDC 2021 keynote. The second event is scheduled to start at 12 pm PT (12.30 am IST) after WWDC Day 1. A report by MacRumors suggests that this event is related to Apple Music’s Spatial Audio.
The company had posted a video confirming the special event. However, it looks like the teaser has been taken down. MacRumors reported that this Apple Music-related event will kick off at 12 pm PT on June 7, which is 12.30 am on June 8 in India. Apple is likely to live-stream the event on its events page or official YouTube channel.
The company could share more details about its upcoming lossless tier music streaming service. Spatial Audio, powered by Dolby Atmos, is coming to all Apple Music subscribers for free. Apple is expected to announce the release day at the event tonight. It had previously announced that the service will roll out in June without mentioning any specific date.
Customers who have subscribed to the music streaming service can listen to more than 75 million songs in Lossless Audio. By default, Apple Music will automatically play Dolby Atmos tracks on all AirPods and Beats headphones with an H1 or W1 chip. The same is possible on the built-in speakers in the latest versions of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Spatial Audio and Lossless Audio will be available on iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, macOS 11.4, and tvOS 14.6 or later.
Apple will make its catalogue of more than 75 million songs available in Lossless Audio. It uses ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) to preserve every single bit of the original audio file. Albums supporting Dolby Atmos will have a badge on their details page for easy discovery. You can click here for more details.
