The Apple TV App for the Amazon Fire TV Stick, users will get access to the following features:
- iTunes library
- Apple TV+ streaming service (which is starting from November 1, 2019, in India)
With the Apple TV App on the Fire TV Stick, users will be able to able to watch iTunes Movies, stream Apple TV content like original and third-party TV shows, use the Apple TV+ streaming service. If you opt for the Apple TV+ streaming service, you will get the special family access feature using which you will be allowed with up to six family members to share using one Apple TV Plus subscription. All members in the family subscription will be able to stream the service using their own Apple ID and password, which is pretty neat. It is worth noticing that in order to pay for the services, you will have to use your Apple device and it can’t be done via the Fire TV payment gateway (as of now, at least). As of now, this is all we know about the service, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days.
Now, the biggest question is whether or not the consumers in India will actually be interested in buying the Apple TV+ subscription as the company has so far only been committing itself to original content for TV+ and as far as the depth of the content is concerned, it is pretty shallow right now. That said, the company’s recent $6 billion investment is a promising sign, nevertheless.
