Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 7 at the iPhone 13 launch event earlier this year. The new Apple Watch comes with iterative upgrades under the hood and a slightly larger display. Apple has trimmed down the bezels, resulting in more screen estate. The Watch Series 7 is currently available for pre-orders in India. Apple has announced that its new smartwatch for the iPhone will go on sale in India and other markets starting October 15. Meanwhile, it looks like the company is experiencing supply constraints. A report from Bloomberg claims that Apple has pushed the delivery dates for its select Watch models in the US beyond the October 15 release date.
The Stainless Steel Apple Watch Series 7 models, which were supposed to get released alongside the Aluminium case models on October 15, are likely to get delivered in November. The higher-priced Watch models, such as the one with a Titanium case and a leather band, are “currently unavailable” for pre-orders as well. Select Watch Series 7 models have received a December delivery date. These include the Watch models with Hermes’ straps.
In India, the Stainless Steel variants are showing a delivery date of 4-5 weeks on the Apple India Online Store, with a tentative date between November 5 and November 13. Even the Starlight Apple Watch Series 7 with an aluminium case is expected to be delivered between November 13 and November 20, which is a delay of 5-6 weeks.
The entire industry has been struggling to keep up with the supply owing to a shortage of semiconductors and other key components. Not just that, local issues at manufacturing hubs such as lockdowns have further delayed the manufacturing process. Apple did not release a statement regarding the delay.
The Series 7 comes in two screen sizes – 41mm and 45mm. Both models feature the S6 chip under the hood. Apple also claims that the Series 7 is its most durable smartwatch ever. You can click here to know more about the Apple Watch Series 7 price in India, features and other details.
