ASUS 6Z Gets 8X Zoom, ARCore Support, Improved Full HD Video Recording with Latest FOTA Update

The Asus ZenFone 6 landed in India as Asus 6Z due to a trademark dispute in the country. The handset was announced on June 19 and hit the stores starting from the 26th of the last month. Now, within a few days of release, the device has received its first update in the Indian market. As per the global markets where it was introduced earlier, this is the second software update rolled out for the Asus 6Z. Tagged as v16.1210.1906.156, the package is around 400 MB in size.

While the first update added a dedicated night mode for the wide-angle mode, the latest software package brings more features and refinements to the table. First up is the better stability for the phone’s unique rotating camera that swings back and forth to assume the role of a rear camera as well as a selfie shooter. The still camera has received a new 8X zoom mode. Moreover, post-processing algorithms have been tweaked to improve noise reduction.
