The company is allegedly working on the development of the upcoming Asus Rog Phone 8 and Rog Phone 8 Ultimate gaming smartphones. The Taiwanese OEM was tipped to launch the Asus Rog Phone 7D series worldwide by the end of 2023. The Rog Phone 7D series smartphones are a watered-down variant of the flagship Rog Phone 7 series.

A recent report indicated that Asus will equip the Rog Phone 7D series smartphones with MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. The report also indicated that Asus would equip the 7D series devices with the exact specifications except for the chipset similar to the vanilla models. 91Mobiles has spotted the Rog Phone 8 Ultimate in the GeekBench listing ahead of the developments. The GeekBench listing of the device confirms its key specifications way ahead of launch.

Asus Rog Phone 8 Ultimate Expected Specifications

The GeekBench listing of the smartphone comes after the recent IMEI listing of the upcoming Asus Rog Phone 8 series smartphones. The IMEI listing of the device revealed that the Rog Phone 8 Ultimate will feature the ASUS_AI2401_A model number. The GeekBench listing of the device reveals the same model number, which confirms that the listing is related to the Rog Phone 8 Ultimate.


The upcoming Asus Rog smartphone has been listed in the GeekBench 6.0 and confirms that the device will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The chipset has a CPU architecture of 1 + 5 + 2 and a base frequency of 2.96 GHz. The upcoming chipset will have a pineapple motherboard and Walt governor.

The details revealed by the GeekBench listing confirm that Asus will equip its upcoming Rog Phone 8 series with the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Qualcomm has confirmed the chipset’s launch at its Annual Tech Summit event on October 24 in Hawaii. Qualcomm is tipped to equip the chipset with one Cortex-X4 core, five Cortex-A720 cores, two Cortex-A520 cores for CPUs, and an Adreno 750 GPU.

The smartphone has scored 2213 points in single-core and 7048 points in multi-core chipset tests. The listing of the upcoming Rog smartphone confirms that the device will run on Android 14 out of the box. The chipset also pairs with up to 16GB for the smartphone in the global markets. The Chinese variant of the device might pack higher RAM and storage owing to industry trends in China.

91Mobiles adds that the vanilla Rog Phone 8 also carries the same model number. There are chances for the vanilla to equip the sane Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC similar to its predecessors. Asus equipped the Rog Phone 7 and Rog Phone 7 Ultimate with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets. The upcoming Rog Phone 8 series is tipped to debut in April 2024 in the global markets.
