Asus unveiled its first game-centric smartphone, the Asus ROG Phone at Computex in June this year. The company is expected to launch the smartphone in the US, later in October 2018. The company already launched the device in China at an event held in the capital of China, Beijing. In the latest development, the gaming smartphone will be available for pre-order in the US from October 18. The company has also revealed the price of the device.

Pricing Details of Asus ROG Phone and Related Accessories

The Asus ROG Phone with 128GB onboard storage is priced at $899, while the variant with 512GB onboard storage is priced at $1,099. Asus has also revealed the prices of the related accessories as well. The ROG Mobile Desktop Dock is available at $229.99, while the ROG TwinView Dock comes with the price ticket of$399.99.  The ASUS ROG Gamevice Controller is listed at $89.99, and the ROG WiGig Dock has been priced at $329.99. The ROG Professional Dock, on the other hand, is also available for pre-order from October 18. The device comes with a price tag of $119.99. You can also pre-order the ROG Phone Case along with your Asus ROG Phone. The phone case is priced at $59.99.

Asus has not revealed the exact shipping details for its upcoming gaming smartphone. The company, however, has announced all the above-mentioned accessories will be available in the fourth quarter of 2018. Since the device is designed for high-end gaming purposes, it comes with support for these accessories to optimize the gaming experience.


Asus ROG Phone Specifications, Features

The ASUS ROG Phone features a 6-inch AMOLED HDR display with 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution. The panel covers 108.6 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and has a 90 Hz refresh rate along with 1ms pixel response time.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is clocked at 2.96GHz. The chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and the phone offers two memory configuration: 128GB and 512GB. The Phone features Optiflex, which is the company’s custom technology that speeds up the phone. It also comes with a unique GameCool vapor-chamber cooling system with a detachable AeroActive cooler that provides additional cooling to prevent thermal throttling.

In the imaging department, the handset comes with a dual-camera set up comprising a 12MP Sony IMX363 f/1.7 primary sensor, coupled with an 8MP secondary sensor with f/2.0 aperture. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calling.

The Asus ROG Phone also comes with a special X Mode that can be activated by pressing the sides of the phone. With this Mode, the phone ends all the background tasks and channelizes all the processing power to the game start playing. Furthermore, the phone’s UI changes from blue to deep red in the X Mode.

The Asus ROG Phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. The device is powered by a 4000mAh battery that comes with support for ASUS HyperCharge fast charging technology.
