Taiwanese PC giant Asus today announced a new range of consumer laptops for the Indian market. The laptops include Asus’ new Zenbook and Vivobook branded devices, running on AMD’s Ryzen 500 U series processors. The company is adding the Zenbook 13 OLED (UM325UA) to its portfolio, along with a whole range of Vivobook laptops. This includes the Vivobook S14 (M433), Vivobook Ultra K14/K15 (KM413/KM513), Vivobook Flip 14, Vivobook 14 (M515) and the Vivobook 17 (M712). The laptops include some of Asus’ newest features and add to a growing PC market in India, with the OLED Zenbook being one of the only laptops to offer such a screen here in the country.
Asus Zenbook 13 OLED
As the name suggests, this one sports an OLED display with 178-degree viewing angles and weighs in at 1.11kg. It runs on the AMD Ryzen 5000 U series processor, built on the company’s 7nm fabrications process. It also has a 67Wh battery and the company claims it will last 16 hours on each charge. The laptop also has Asus’ WiFi Master technology, which ensures smooth video streaming even when the user is significantly farther from the router.
The OLED display allows the PANTONE validation, which essentially means richer and more accurate colours. Essentially, this might make the laptop more suitable for graphic designers, video editors and more.
Asus Vivobook S S14
The Vivobook S14 will run on the Ryzen 500 5500U processor, from AMD’s mobile processor range. Not to be mistaken for an ARM-based chipset like Apple’s M1, the processor is part of AMD’s chips meant for thin and light devices. According to Asus, the laptop has slimmer bezels than before, allowing 85% screen-to-body ratio. It has Full-HD resolution.
Asus Vivobook Ultra K14/K15
On the other hand, the VivoBook Ultra K14/K15 will run on the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor, clocked at 4.3GHz. You also get AMD’s integrated Radeon graphics, which the company claims will offer 15% more graphical performance. You also get 8GB of RAM and PCIe SSD storage. The laptop will be sold in 14-inch and 15.6 inch variants.
Asus VivoBook Flip 14
If you’re looking for some more flexibility, the VivoBook Flip 14 runs on the same chipset as mentioned above, but offers the convertible form factor. You get a 14-inch display fitted on an overall 13-inch chassis for this one, allowing a total of 82% screen-to-body ratio. This one has a touch-enabled display, for those who need that features.
Asus VivoBook 15
The VivoBook 15 will come with a 15.6 inch Full HD two-sided display, and 83% screen-to-body ratio. Asus hasn’t revealed the exact SKUs for this one, but it too will run on AMD’s Ryzen 5000U series processors.
