ASUS recently launched the Zenfone 6 smartphone at an event in Spain. Even before the official launch, the Zenfone 6 had been creating a substantial buzz among the tech enthusiasts with its somewhat quirky design for the camera. Now, in the latest report about the Zenfone 6, ASUS has revealed that it will be launching the phone in India on June 16, 2019. The company has already started teasing the phone on Flipkart.
ASUS Zenfone 6 Likely To Debut in India on June 16, Listed On Flipkart
The ASUS Zenfone 6 is already up for sale in select regions. Now with the phone set to debut in the Indian smartphone market, we can expect to see a lot many teasers sprouting. Also, ASUS has hinted that the launch date i.e., June 16 is tentative for now and could change even a day before. Flipkart is likely going to be the exclusive e-commerce platform for the Zenfone 6 in India. The phone has been listed on Flipkart with a caption that reads, “Coming Soon to India.” It further confirms that the launch date for India is subject to change else Flipkart would have also mentioned the launch date as June 16, 2019.
The ASUS Zenfone 6 is a flagship with a 6.4-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. A Snapdragon 855 chipset powers the phone with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, depending on the variants. A massive 5,000mAh battery backs the Zenfone 6 with support for 18W QuickCharge 4.0. The major highlight of the phone is its 48MP+13MP flip camera setup that acts as both front and rear camera. It flips at 90-degree when the front camera is to be used and rests in its default position for rear camera usage.
Concerning pricing, the Zenfone 6 is priced at €499 (approx. INR 39,000) for the base variant featuring 6GB of RAM and 64GB Storage, €559 (approx. INR 43,900) for 6GB RAM+128GB Storage model, and €599 (approx. INR 47,000) for 8GB RAM+256GB Storage variant. It has been launched in Midnight Black and Twilight Silver color options.
ASUS Zenfone 6 Tops DxOMark Rankings For Selfie Camera
Amidst major lineup of current flagships such as the OnePlus 7 Pro, Huawei P30 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S10, the ASUS Zenfone 6 managed to sweep the top spot for its selfie camera performance on DxOMark. The phone boasts a score of 98 ahead of the Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy S10+ with a score of 97 and 96, respectively and the Google Pixel 3 XL with a score of 92.
The motorized flip camera on the Zenfone 6 enabled it to fetch the top spot. DxOMark mentions that the Zenfone 6’s rotating design allows the use of a much larger sensor for selfie shots. Furthermore, the autofocus system, a dual-LED flash, and superior camera software help in getting the best results. The Zenfone 6 camera setup has earned the top score of 98 is based on results based on a slew of tests including noise, color, detail, and more.
