Asus is gearing up to launch the Asus ZenFone 8 series on May 12. The company is expected to launch the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip at the launch event. Ahead of the launch, the design renders and key specs of the two devices had leaked. The latest development reveals the pricing details of the vanilla ZenFone 8 model. According to 91Mobiles, the vanilla model will start in Europe at around EUR 700 (roughly Rs 62,500). Users get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for the price. Tipster Sudhanshu and 91Mobiles claim that the company will launch the vanilla model in three storage options. The base variant with 8GB + 128GB storage will launch at around EUR 700 (roughly Rs 62,500). Asus will also launch an 8GB + 256GB storage option priced at EUR 750 (roughly Rs 67,000). Lastly, a top-end 16GB + 256GB variant will launch for EUR 800 (roughly Rs 71,500).
The device is expected to launch later this year in India. Asus has confirmed the launch of the ZenFone 8 series in India. However, due to the ongoing second wave of COVID-19, the company has decided to postpone the launch event. The device’s specifications have also leaked ahead of the launch.
Asus ZenFone 8 specifications
The smartphone will feature a 5.92-inch Full HD+ Samsung-made E4 AMOLED display. It will have a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The device will measure 148 x 68.5 x 8.9mm and weigh 169 grams.
It will have a dual-camera setup on the back. It will have a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide + macro camera. For selfies, there will be a 12MP front camera. Both the front and rear cameras will support Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS).
The device will feature up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. A smaller form factor will also result in the device featuring a smaller battery.
