ASUS Zenfone Max M2 Features and Specifications

The Asus Zenfone Max M2 is a budget smartphone, but it will certainly give a tough competition to other similarly priced devices. It will mainly compete with phones such as the Realme 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6, and Honor 8X. The phone uses an all-metal construction, which makes it much more durable compared to other devices that use a plastic body.

The phone features a 6.26-inch HD+ LCD notched display, which is similar to the Max Pro M2. However, the resolution on the Max Pro M2 is higher than the Max M2. The phone has a screen to body ratio of 88 percent, which is pretty amazing. Internally, the device is equipped with the Snapdragon 623 chipset, which is paired with either 3GB RAM+32GB ROM and 4GB RAM+64GB ROM. It does have a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 2TB.

Now let’s talk about the cameras on the Max M2. The phone features a dual-rear camera setup with a primary 13MP sensor(f/1.8 aperture) paired with a secondary 2MP depth sensor. It supports 4K recording at 30fps and an update in December will enable AI scene detection. On the front, there’s an 8MP sensor with an LED flash that’s housed inside the notch. The front camera will also get support for electronic image stabilization(EIS). Asus has used a 5-magnet loudspeaker with an NXP amplifier to provide improved audio.

Apart from that, the Max M2 has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock as well. A large 4000mAh battery is available to keep the phone going all day long. The phone also support Dual 4G VoLTE, has a headphone jack, and runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo. An update to Android 9.0 Pie should be available in February 2019.
