The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 may have arrived, but ASUS has not forgotten about the capable yet attractively priced Android smartphone’s predecessor. ASUS may be calling it November Security Patch Update, but the Zenfone Max Pro M1 is getting quite a few improvements in multiple departments. The update primarily includes Google Security patch for November.

In addition to the security update, the latest OTA update for the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 reportedly improves Wi-Fi hotspot compatibility. ASUS has also addressed a few issues that users of the Max Pro M1 faced while using popular image-based social media platform Instagram. The company claims apps like Instagram should work without a hitch on the Android smartphone.

ASUS has also worked on battery and power management. The company claims the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 has been further optimized for battery consumption. It is quite possible that ASUS may have worked on background app management and hence, optimized battery consumption.

ASUS also assured the Zenfone Max Pro M1 will now have improved camera performance during video recording. If that’s not exciting enough, the company even claims that audio experience via headphones has been optimized.

Essentially, it appears ASUS has addressed several concerns that the Zenfone Max Pro M1 had brought forth. Handsets in active usage should soon start receiving OTA notification, asking users to update the firmware. ASUS is sending out the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 November Security Patch Update that’s technically called OPM1.WW_Phone-15.2016.1811.338-20181206. The deployment of the OTA update is in stages. Hence, all users may not receive the update quickly. However, ASUS has assured that the update will eventually reach the devices.

The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 is an interesting Android smartphone that comes in three memory configurations: 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. The device features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 resides within the ASUS smartphone.

The 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 feature 13MP + 5MP dual-camera setup at the back, while the top-end 6GB RAM variant comes with 16MP + 5MP dual-camera setup. The 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants have 5MP camera on the front, while the 6GB RAM variant gets an upgraded 16MP sensor.
