ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2

Update: ASUS announces the second sale of the Zenfone Max Pro M2 on Flipkart at 4 PM. You are also entitled to get flat Rs. 1,000 discount on your purchase today.

ASUS last week launched the Zenfone Max Pro M2 for the Indian market, and the first sale for this device will be held today at 12 pm on Flipkart. The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 builds on the success of the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 (review), which was received very well by experts and buyers alike. The M1 offered great specifications at budget pricing, and the M2 now carries forward the same approach. It comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which ASUS advertises as a rarity in this price segment, and we cannot contend that claim.

Asus Corning Gorilla Glass 6

The Corning Gorilla Glass 6 is the latest display protection glass from Corning, and is seen largely on flagship devices, starting from the likes of the OnePlus 6T. Even the OnePlus 6, a runaway bestseller flagship device that was launched in mid-2018, came with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There is much more to the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2, such as a well-crafted notch and excellent cameras. Add to that, the device will be running Android 9 Pie in stock version from January 2019. So, if you have been excited about the arrival of this handset, here are the details of its pricing and launch offers.

The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be sold in three memory configurations. The base variant, priced at INR 12,999, will offer 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Another model gets 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, retailing for INR 14,999. The priciest model costs INR 16,999, and offers a 6GB RAM, with 64GB of storage. You can add up to 2TB of storage via microSD card, for which there is a third and dedicated slot, apart from two SIM slots with 4G VoLTE support.

Probably the best offer for this launch sale is a flat INR 1,000 discount for HDFC Bank customers. You can avail the discount if you make the payment using a debit or credit card from HDFC Bank, even if you buy on EMI. Make a note here that such offers, explicitly designed for bank card users, do not apply on payments made via netbanking. If you do not have any debit or credit card from HDFC, you can use any other debit or credit card for a No Cost EMI offer that will give you the option of paying over 3 or 6 months for no additional cost. Another offer is that of a complete mobile protection plan for just INR 99, which is likely to cost much more if you purchase it later.

Flipkart has also made a mention of mobile cases for the device. Although, not available yet, Flipkart says those are ‘coming soon’ at the ‘Flipkart SmartBuy’ store, where Flipkart promises to sell quality products at ‘jaw-dropping’ prices.

ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 vs M1: Price Comparison

This would be a good time to compare the pricing of the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 with that of its predecessor. The new handset comes in the exact same memory configurations as the one it succeeds, costing INR 2,000 more in each model. The ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 costs INR 10,999 for the base 3GB+32GB model, INR 12,999 for the mid-specced 4GB+64GB variant, and INR 14,999 for the 6GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage.

Whichever model of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 you wish to buy, a corresponding RAM and storage variant of the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will cost just a couple of thousand bucks more. Given the improved design and specifications of the Zenfone Max Pro M2, it makes for a smarter choice.
