The Ather 450S is the newest addition to Ather’s portfolio. It comes with a 5.4 kW motor which accelerates from 0-40 in 3.9 seconds with a peak torque of 22Nm. It is powered by a 2.9 kWh battery which can give you a range of around 115 km. The scooter gets a mono suspension at the rear, and twin telescopic forks at the front.
The Ather 450S gets a disc brake at the front, and a drum back at the rear. It comes with a 7-inch DeepView display, but it does not have touchscreen support. Ather has provided a joystick on the left side of the handlebar to navigate between the menu.
Design-wise, the Ather 450S looks the same as the existing Ather 450X. The company has not changed the design, as it considers it to be aerodynamically stable.
Ather 450X Variants Detail and Specifications
The Ather 450X gets two variants that only differ in battery size. The first model comes with a 2.9 kWh battery, and the other variant comes with a larger 3.7 kWh battery. Both scooters share the exact same 6.4 kW motor that generates 26Nm torque.
The regular Ather 450X offers a range of 111 km, whereas the large-battery variant has an IDC-rated range of 150 km. Acceleration is the same on both scooters as they can achieve 0-40 in 3.3 seconds. The 450X has a top speed of 90 kmph.
Both variants get dual disc brakes, rear mono-shock, twin telescopic forks at the front, and an aluminium swingarm.
Common Features Between Ather 450S and 450X
The Ather 450S and the 450X share the exact same body and frame, hence the appearance of these scooters is similar. Ather has introduced a new joystick on all new scooters that can be used to quickly navigate between the menu. Note that the 450X still comes with a touchscreen, while the 450S does not support it.

Ather has implemented a new feature called FallSafe. It uses a combination of accelerometer, gyroscope, and bank angle sensors to detect if the scooter falls or crashes. The scooter will shut down the motor and start flashing hazard lights when it detects a crash.
The new Ather 450S and 450X also share the same 12-inch alloy wheels. They get 90/90 tyres at the front, and 100/80 tyres at the back, both of which are tubeless.
