Nothing Ear (open): Features and Specifications
The Nothing Ear (open) sports a 14.2 dynamic driver with titanium-coated polyethylene terephthalate with patent-pending diaphragm and custom tuning. Nothing’s Open Sound Technology is said to create a more immersive audio experience without removing the background noises. The earbuds support low-lag mode (up to 120ms) for better gaming experiences.
The earbuds are backed by a 64mAh battery, which can offer a battery backup of up to 8 hours. The charging case houses a 645mAh battery, which can allow the device to operate for 30 hours on a single charge. Nothing claims a ten-minute charge will offer a playback of up to two hours. It also comes with AI clear voice technology for crystal clear calls.
The earbuds and charging case get an IP54 rating, and the charging case also gets an LED charging status light. The Ear (open) uses Bluetooth 5.3 protocol and is compatible with smartphones running Android 5.0/iOS 13.0 or above. However, the device has limited codec support, as it is limited to AAC and SBC.
Nothing has included support for the Nothing X app, which brings advanced features including Advanced Equaliser with profile sharing, customisable controls, Find My Earbuds, and firmware updates. Oher features include Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, Dual Connection, and pinch controls.
