Player Unknown’s BattleGround Mobile, otherwise known as PUBG Mobile, is all set to make its return in the Indian market as Battlegrounds Mobile. To those unaware, the popular multiplayer online battle royale game was banned by the Indian govt back in September 2020 over security concerns. Earlier this week, a new report emerged that claimed that Krafton, the developer of Battleground Mobile, has asked content creators to avoid using PUBG Mobile name. The pre-registration for the game will begin on Google Play Store next week on 18th May. Ahead of the pre-registration, Battlegrounds Mobile has been listed on the Google Play Store.
Battlegrounds Mobile Play Store Listing is Plastered with PUBG Mobile!
Krafton might have asked the content creators to avoid using the moniker PUBG Mobile, but the moniker can be spotted in multiple places in the Google Play Store listing. We spotted the PUBG Mobile India, as well as Player Unknown’s BattleGround Mobile in three different preview images in the Play Store listing.
Google Play Store further reveals that the Battlegrounds Mobile will offer Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Vikendi, and Livik battle maps. The Battlegrounds Mobile pre-registrations are set to open next week on 18th May. The company will offer special rewards to all the users who pre-register for the upcoming game.
Krafton has already confirmed that Battlegrounds Mobile will be a free-to-play game on mobile devices. It means that users can download the app for free from the Google Play Store. We can expect the game to be released on iOS App store as well very soon. The exact launch date of Battlegrounds Mobile India is not revealed yet. Reports suggest that Krafton will release the game to the public in June 2021. Krafton has already confirmed that the Battlegrounds Mobile will come with a set of restrictions for those under 18 years of age.
