Best Noise Cancelling TWS Earbuds in India: Apple AirPods Pro, Sony WF-1000XM4 and more

Here we will be taking a look at the best active noise cancelling TWS earbuds you can currently purchase in India.

With Apple removing the 3.5mm headphone jack, it kicked off the wireless movement. Most OEMs across the globe followed the trend and let go of wired earphones, in favour of wireless audio. To recall, most brands first hopped on to the neckband style bandwagon, soon replacing it with true wireless stereo (TWS). Now, most companies are moving towards noise-cancelling TWS earbuds. The market is currently filled with TWS earbuds that offer active noise cancellation (ANC). Here we will be taking a look at the best active noise cancelling TWS earbuds you can currently purchase, but before we start off with our recommendations, here are some things you need to consider before buying noise cancelling earbuds.

Things to Consider Before Buying Noise Cancelling Earbuds

ANC TWS earbuds tend to be more expensive compared to their non-ANC counterparts. This is why it is recommended that you carefully select a pair of TWS earbuds with ANC to avoid any regret.

There are four main points that you should consider before settling on a pair of active noise cancellation TWS earbuds. These points include the efficacy of noise cancellation, sound quality, battery life and overall comfort.

Efficiency of Noise Cancellation

Measuring the efficiency of noise cancellation in ANC TWS earbuds is extremely important as it is the feature you are paying a premium for. So taking a look at the noise frequencies that the earbuds can cut out is extremely important. The lower the dB isolation rate goes, the more efficient the noise cancellation is.

This has become a very important point these days, considering that many cheap ANC TWS earbuds tend to compromise on the quality of noise cancellation.

Sound Quality

Sound quality is the next important thing that you should take a look at. Check out how well the TWS earbuds can deliver lows, mids and highs. Do also take a look at the sound profiles offered and if they match your tastebuds or not.

This is an extremely important point as even with the best noise cancellation if the sound is not up to the mark, the earbuds will not be of any value.

Battery Life

Features like ANC use up a major chunk of the battery extremely fast. This is why it is important that you check out the battery efficiency, optimisation features, and the total battery capacity of the device.

Comfort

While getting a pair of TWS earbuds you should check out the comfort considering that you will be using the earbuds for long durations. However, getting ANC enabled TWS earbuds is more challenging, and the frequencies released to enable ANC could be pretty jarring. So do check the device properly and see how your body responds to the negative sound.

Samsung’s earbuds have never found a middle ground, they either have been a massive hit or just been put aside as a miss. Samsung launched its Galaxy Buds Pro with the S21 lineup last year, and surprised us with a list of features so long, that most TWS would snooze reading half of it. Some of the features that we felt made these shine were 360 Audio, Dolby Head Tracking, Ambient Sound, Auto Switch, and especially ANC.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro come with a very impressive ANC. The earbuds tend to filter out even minor sound disturbances before anything reaches the ear canal. We have used them a lot during daily travel, and we have to say that Samsung has us coloured impressed. However, not all is hunky-dory, the sound quality is just above average and the device only supports the ANC codec while being used on a non-Samsung device.

When Nothing Ear (1) was launched, we knew nothing about what the company’s plans were, but the one thing we knew was that Carl Pei knows how to create hype. The product was so hyped, that when it finally launched, it fell flat with users complaining about its sound quality. While the Nothing Ear (1)’s sound quality is Nothing to brag about, it is well over average. Where the earbuds manage to gain points are their ANC capabilities.

The earbuds do not completely cut off the noise, but for the price, they perform pretty well. Moreover, they manage to stand out with their transparent design. The updates have also helped them improve a bit on their sound quality and computational capabilities for ANC.

Price in India

Nothing Ear (1) are currently available at Rs 6,499 in White and Black colour options.

Now taking a look at the budget side of things, the Realme Buds Air 3 are amongst the most affordable TWS earbuds you can get with ANC. While the company might show you moons and stars on their sales page, do not get fooled. The price does define the quality. The Realme Buds Air 3 manage to justify its price but is not strong enough to take on the big hitters.

With Realme Buds Air 3, you will get a decent sound output, which is skewed a bit towards the bass. Its ANC just gets the job done and will not be as effective to cut out the road or wind noise during trips, but it will surely help out in noisy office environments.

Realme Buds Air 3 are available at Rs 3,499. They have been launched in Galaxy White and Starry Blue colour options.

Availability

Undercutting Realme Buds Air 3 are the DIZO Buds Z Pro from its own sub-brand. The Buds are pretty basic and would be one of the buds you can get before you completely enter the ANC world. The sound quality is decent with most of it ranging pretty flat. The lows seem non-existent, while the mids and the highs come out a bit muddled. These are basically the Rs 100 cheap earphones that you would purchase before you save up enough to get a good one.

The ANC is also pretty basic, and ranges even below the Realme Buds 3 in terms of performance. But the bottom line still remains that it does help out cut a lot of unwanted noises in an office environment.
