Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023 recently concluded with Gladiators Esports becoming the champions. The tournament saw very intense BGMI action from well-known teams, especially the underdogs. As announced in the Krafton Press conference in August, a few of the finalists of BGIS 2023 will get to participate in the BGMI India – Korea Invitational. This is the first time that Krafton is holding a competition between two countries since its inception.

The upcoming tournament will be a huge opportunity for Indian teams though it is an invitational, as they face off foreign teams. A total of eight top teams from BGIS 2023 have been selected for the tournament against eight Korean teams from the PUBG Mobile Pro Series.

The tournament is set to take place from October 26 to October 28. Each day will include six matches amounting to a total of 18 matches across three days. Krafton is yet to make an official announcement regarding the tournament details including teams, and format. Fans will get to see the acclaimed teams in the coming event. As per reports, the tournament will be held at Pragati Maidan, Delhi.

The event will be played on Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). BGMI is an Indian version of PUBG Mobile and not many of the Indian squads got a chance to play on an International stage since the game’s release. Only a few teams, like Team Soul, Godlike Esports, and 7Sea Esports, have had the opportunity to compete against foreign teams since the inception of BGMI in India.

Gladiators Esports which emerged as an esports org after BGMI re-release, has now become the centre of attraction as the team secured two major championships, namely BGIS 2023, and BGMS Season 2. The team took home Rs 75 lakhs and Rs 1 Crore in prize money respectively. Dplus KIA, formerly Damwon Gaming, is a hugely popular esports squad from South Korea that will compete in the next India-Korea Invitational Championship. It will be very interesting how the Indian teams will unfold in an event against Korean teams.

Overall, this competition will provide an excellent chance for Indian teams to put their abilities to the test against seasoned international teams. The event is reportedly set to take place as a LAN event that will be attended by a large number of fans. Krafton will make this event bigger if the winner of this tournament gets a slot at PMGC 2023.
